Refund policy

Return and Refund Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026

We want every House of RAK book to arrive in excellent condition.

Voluntary returns

You may request a return within 14 days after delivery by emailing support@houseofrak.com with the order number and reason for the request.

For a voluntary return, the book must be unread, unused beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it, undamaged, and suitable for resale. Please return it in its original packaging or equally protective packaging.

If a discounted bundle is returned, all books in the bundle must be returned to receive a full bundle refund, unless the return concerns a defect or error affecting only one item.

We will provide the correct return address and instructions. Do not send an item to the address printed on the original parcel unless we specifically instruct you to do so.

For voluntary returns, the customer is responsible for return postage. Original shipping charges are not refundable except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Statutory withdrawal rights

If a mandatory right of withdrawal applies to your purchase, this policy does not restrict it.

In particular, eligible consumers in the European Union or European Economic Area may notify us of withdrawal within 14 days after delivery without giving a reason. After notifying us, the goods must be sent back within the legally applicable period.

Where that right applies:

  • We will refund the product price and the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered for the order.
  • The customer pays the direct cost of returning the goods unless we agreed to pay it or failed to provide legally required advance notice.
  • We may reduce the refund for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the goods.
  • We may withhold the refund until the goods are received or the customer provides evidence that they were sent back.

A standard book being printed after an order is placed does not by itself remove a mandatory withdrawal right.

Damaged, defective, misprinted, or incorrect orders

Inspect the order when it arrives. If a book is damaged, defective, misprinted, or different from what was ordered, contact support@houseofrak.com as soon as possible and preferably within 14 days after delivery.

Include the order number and clear photographs of the book and packaging. Once the problem is verified, we will arrange a replacement or refund at no additional cost.

The preferred 14-day reporting period does not limit any longer mandatory right relating to defective or non-conforming goods.

Cancellations and address changes

An order may be cancelled before fulfilment begins. Because books are printed to order and production can begin shortly after an order is accepted, cancellation or address-change requests cannot be guaranteed after fulfilment has started.

If cancellation is still possible, the cancelled amount will be returned to the original payment method.

Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. For an eligible voluntary return, request a return and place a separate order for the desired product.

This does not limit the right to a replacement where a product is damaged, defective, misprinted, or incorrect.

Refund timing

For an approved voluntary return, we will issue the refund to the original payment method within 10 business days after receiving and inspecting the returned goods. A bank or card provider may require additional time to post the credit.

Where mandatory law requires an earlier deadline, that deadline applies. For an eligible EU or EEA withdrawal, reimbursement will be initiated no later than 14 days after notice of withdrawal, although it may be withheld until we receive the goods or evidence that they were returned.

For an order that cannot be shipped, the refund will include the amount paid for the unshipped product and its associated shipping charge.

If more than 15 business days have passed since we confirmed that a refund was issued, contact support@houseofrak.com.

Return fraud and abuse

We may reject a voluntary return involving an item not purchased from this store, deliberate damage, falsified evidence, or repeated abusive conduct. This does not limit any mandatory consumer right.
